Behind the Lens

Congratulations Scott & Jessica on your wedding at Sanctuary. It was a lovely ceremony and with enough coaxing, hopefully an adventure that you will remember forever.
Everyone panicked at the thought of Jessica hopping off to a golfcart to go zooming away for sunset photos. What if the veil gets caught, what if she gets dirt on the dress? With the aid of Robin having golf carts ready, we bundled Jess in her dress and secured it with her mile long veil and bounded off for the sunset, and some of my best work this year.
Thank you for having enough faith to trust your photographer so we could make these magical photos happen.
Best wishes to you for a long happy life together

Arja & Alex
This couple lives and breaths American values, he's the entrepreneur and she's the justice defendant. He is her renaissance man, she is his leading lady. They shared a tradition heavy gorgeous white wedding on the grounds of DC Ranch Country Club this past Sunday.
Neither enjoy being in the spotlight of our cameras, but given just five minutes we were able to create some stunning images that not only highlight the beauty of the grounds where they were wed, but show the genuine love they share.
Congratulations and we hope you are having a wonderful time in Spain

Gina & Bradley Beverly
This J Crew couple was married at Ancala Golf Club. Gina was every inch of old Hollywood glam and had a golden glow from her skin to dress to pearls. Melanie photographed this wedding with Adrianna and it was gorgeous weather for a lovely late evening outdoor ceremony.
Congratulations to both of you!
Courtney & Ben Swenson
We recently photographed Courtney & Ben's wedding at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club. Being partial to variety in my photos and the tendency to not want to photograph around golfers we went exploring at the business center next dorr and found wonderful places to take photographs, including the Historic vehicle in the parking lot. Don't ask me who's it was, we didn't know and it was too cool not to stop.
Once the ceremony was over we took advantage of the rolling greens and the soft lighting.
It was a wonderful ceremony and all the "parrotheads" had a great time.
Congratulations to both of you & Miss Sophie too!

Hillary & Logan

These two Sun Devils were guests at the Harris wedding on 10/07, they fell in love with us so much, that we were soon contacted and requested to photograph their wedding- which was also going to be held at ASU.
Well, who am I to say no to a fan of my work- we were soon booked to shoot their wedding, which still isn't until 1/09. Most recently we did their engagement session, which is now all over Facebook, and Hillary, Logan and I couldn't be happier with the results.
Congrats Mr & Mrs Allen & Georgia
Congrats to Matt, Chelsea and Georgia. This family was joined at Aldea on Sunday evening. Fleur de Leis's were a special touch from the cuff links, to the cake, favors to the matching pins on mom and daughter. I was also a huge fan of the bride's shoes and the girl's matching zebra shoes- AWESOME! I love to see flair and creativity- it was the little details that made this wedding POP
Matt's daughter Georgia shared the father daughter dance with him. And for all the tough front I put up, I must admit I was near tears watching him dance to Ray Charles' "Georgia on my Mind". The had been practicing for weeks and I imagine Matt loved every minute of it. He's a very proud papa, and should be, he has a wonderful beautiful little girl.
Congrats Mr & Mrs Valle
Fabiola & Jerry exchanged vows underneath a pink and white canopy and candelabras. This was a wonderful family event filled with song, la marcha, the groom being carried to the bride for the garter toss and multiple party trains. I departed at 11, but I'm almost 100% certain the party went on way into the wee hours.
Congrats Mr & Mrs Giron
Saturday Melanie & Adrianna photographed Claudia & Mike's wedding at St. Thomas the Apostle in Phoenix with a wild reception following. From the photos alone you could tell this reception was one party not to miss. I only wish I could have been there. Mardi gras masks, ballons and the lime green band.
I also heard a rumor that the staged cake cutting was more than just a slice- the pic of Mike in heaven over how good the cake tasted- priceless!

Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Willes
Friday we photographed Brad & Stephanie's wedding at the Windmere in East Mesa. It was a beautiful, happy and emotional event. With lots of happy tears and fun moments. Stephanie was a vision, and with cooler weather and a nice breeze we were able to play with draperies and show off the goddess she really is.
There was also some wild dancing- the best man is one of our upcoming grooms and we were glad forthe opportunity to meet him in person prior to his wedding. He and his dad were dancing machines. I almost got tired just watching them party.

Deidra and family
Deidra and Gamen were unfortunately exposed to bad "professional" photography and were very nervous about having their wedding photos done. Happily, they chose Moments in Film and during their engagement session I had the opportunity to show them what good professional photography should look like.
Their son is too cute and was so well behaved during the family portion of the shoot. He thought the water was really neat, so we tried to integrate that into many of the pictures
Sam and Alex
This financially savvy couple decided to ditch the wedding in lieu of a great home. Who can really blame them with the market the way it is. But they both agreed that they wanted amazing photographs of them together.
From denim and sunglasses, to flowers and waterfalls their session was fun, sassy and terribly romantic- they do salsa dance together.
This photo absolutely exemplifies the love they share
Isabella "Belly" baby
Once upon a time, Rachelle and Rahul were married and I had the priviledge to photograph it.
First comes love, then comes marriage...well, around Christmas time last year came Isabella.
We did family photos when she was just 3 months old and itsy bity. She was also at Kerry and Uncle Romit's wedding. Now that they are in transit to living in CA I got to do a fairy princess shoot with her and Daddy was so happy to see his "belly" baby.
We should be doing cake photos right before her birthday in Dec.
Kam & Steve
So in addition to sharing wedding pics, I'm going to post engagement photos as well.
Kam forwarned me Steve was "not a picture" guy. I'm familiar with this, many guys don't enjoy having a camera in their face. But in no time at all Steve opened up and we had quite a bit of fun coaxing him to "show us his machismo" for the camera.
This is one of my faves!

East Valley Bridal Affair
Sunday the 28th was the East Valley Bridal Affair at the Windmere. This was our first wedding show EVER, and it was a success. Many of our sponsors are already booking brides.
We had the opportunity to meet lots of neat brides and I was able to expand my networking even farther to be the "go to" girl for all my current brides.
If you stopped by our table, please feel free to leave a comment and let us know how we did.
Hey even if you didn't make it out, browse the blog and leave us a post.
I'd like to send a special thank you to- Adrianna and Melanie for being my ultimate cheerleaders. Hillary Snyder for sending Emily out to visit us. Emily- you rock and you gave me the ultimate ego boost. Also, Rev. Amy for pushing me to put myself out in the crowd and show those girls that no one shoots a wedding like we do! You all ROCK
SHAKER
So last week was really busy... after the wedding MBA, the fundraiser and setting up a few other cool endeavors (more later) Adrianna and I headed over to O'Kellys to photograph Dillon's other band Shaker.
Still a cover band, but they kick butt! Of course, I was sad to see our boy Dillon off the the side- he's a rock star to MIFP, they sound awesome and our fingers are crossed that they get even more gigs in the near future!
EVCT Fundraiser
Friday night I actually put the camera down and attended the East Valley Children's Theater's Fundraising event. We donated 2 family photo sessions, and since I had that fabulous dress from the gala 2 days prior. I know- a total faux pas by Hollywood standards, but hey- that dress wasn't cheap and it looked great!
Even though I wasn't behind the lens, we did represent! Adrianna was taking photos for us.
It was a wonderful event for charity and we were pleased to not only participate, but hey, I got to dress my hubby up twice in one week! :)
Wedding MBA
Last week was the Wedding Merchant Business Academy. 3 jam packed days with the big names behind The Knot, WeddingWire and Brides.com lots of really neat info.
Although, I must confess, being one of the youngest people there was really daunting. Unfortunately, being the youngest had quite a few disadvantages since many of my colleagues were not "hip" to giving away the disk of images or using blogs to communicate.
Makes me realize how important it is to stay current!
If nothing else, I got to wear a smoking hot dress to an "gala" and take my hubby out for a few hours.
