A rave review from Citron Sound

I can't say enough about Jacquelyn or her work and I've seen a lot of photographers. Her pictures are fantastic!

Just as important, however, is that she is helpful in every way. I can't recommend her enough.

Rolls Royce Phantom

So thru Chandra and Nick, I had the opportunity to conduct some networking with West- the gentleman behind the Phantom V I had the opportunity to photograph while not drooling over the car.
The story behind the car is great- there's only 1- ONE- in AZ and very few were actually in production. This is seriously a great getaway vehicle for a wedding if its just the two of you leaving the ceremony.

Here's West's info
Windsor Coach limousine, Arizona's only provider of classic chauffeured Rolls-Royce limousine car service. Arrive in Rolls-Royce elegance with your 1965 Phantom V Mulliner Park Ward limousine. Inspired by Royalty, the classic Windsor Coach Rolls-Royce Phantom V will transport you in pure British elegance.

Congrats Nick & Chandra

Allow me to introduce my rockstar couple! This was Suzanne's first wedding with us, but she did a great job and took everything in stride- like when I made Danny (Groomsman of the YEAR-far end of first photo) fall off of a table when I asked him to table surf in the "war room" of Pebble Creek. I've never seen beef fly that fast into someones face and instead of getting upset he laughed it off with the guys and goofed with us all night. I need to send him a six pack or something.

Anyway- I was in my element- gorgeous bride (check) Rev Amy Miller officiating (check) great weather (check). It was my first time at Pebble Creek and I so made it mine! I even had a '65 Rolls Royce Phantom at my disposal (catch drool here) I was afraid to breath on the car.
While my couple is off frolicking in Mexico I'm going to share with you a few of my absolute favorites from the day. And believe me limiting myself to three was painful!

Congratulations Derek & Melissa

Melanie and Emily recently photographed the Thiemonge/Rodriguez wedding at the Wigwam resort. I love that brides are using black for bridesmaids dresses- talk about a favor- every girl can use a great black dress and they are almost always flattering.
They timed their ceremony for perfect light and had a glowing sky as their backdrop for formal photos. Melissa honey you were stunning. I've seen 3 variations of that dress adn yours by far has been the MOST flattering!
By the way- thanks to their gorgeous cake covered in chocolate covered strawberries- I've been craving said strawberries all week! The cake really was the epitome of the wedding- decadent and elegant but simple. Like tulips in the rose boquet or pearls on the cathedral veil.
Just beautiful!

She's here, the baby's here YEA!

Adrianna- one of our photogs finally had her baby. Danni Renee was born on Monday evening and is ab absolute miracle. Danni doesn't have a pulmonary artery and all was uncertain as tothe state of her health. We were expecting that should we need heart surgery immediately after delivery- but not Adri's little girl- no oxygen, no machines- nada! She is scheduled to come home from the NICU today and we are all excited for her to be home with mommy.
Adrianna check the blog frequently, so please feel free to leave comments for her and the baby here.

Danni will have regular updates on our blog-as she is the newest addition to the MIFP family. Below are a couple of photos I popped off in NICU when I first got to see her.
super proud godmother!

Garcia Vow Renewal

Friday afternoon Mr & Mrs Garcia renewed their vows in a brief ceremony at the chapel before running off to Fountain Hills for a second honeymoon. It was amazing to see how much they were still in love after 12 years together. We with them a lifetime of happiness and love.

Gracie's 3mo session

Grace Olivia is my brothers daughter- who persistently refuses to smile for photos. SHe loves when I play with her, but as soon as I put the camera in front of my face she's off- no more smiling playing baby- it's all seriousness. Another dislike of her's- daddy's beard- probably the least favorite next to diaper changes :) Here's hoping the 6mo session is all smiles

Magazine Cover Contest

Professional Photographer magazine is hosting their annual cover contest. One of the rulse is that it has to reflect the work you sell to clients- one would think weddings. But I decided to be different- there are thousands of wedding photographers- but not too many who do infant photography.

Here's hoping my photo of 12 day old Sean with is parents is a winner- although even honorable mention would kick butt!

New Photographers

We like to introduce two of our newest photographers to the Moments in Film family: Shawn Carden and Emily Collins.
Emily is the sister of recent bride Hillary Koehler and has forever been a photography enthusiast. As I recall we spent more time talking about cameras and locations than discussing the wedding she was hiring me for. Emily's current last name is Snyder, but in like 12 days she's getting married at the Phoenix Zoo- how cool is that. Emily has a natural eye for wedding photography and has blended in seamlessly with our current staff. I wish I had met her 2 years ago when Hillary started stalking me for her wedding :) We're so happy to have you on board Emily and hope that you have a long prosperous run with us- you're a fantastic addition!

Shawn is a long time landscape and fine art photographer. His energy and zeal for getting the best most unique photos is very reminiscent of me when I started shooting. His go get 'em gurellia approach to taking great candid photos is a huge asset to Moments in Film we are so happy he has joined the team!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Momtazian

Kamelia & Koushyar exchanged vows 2/28/09 at the Windemere Conference Center in East Mesa.

I wish their had been subtitles running on a teleprompter, their ceremony was performed in their native language except for a few passages that had been translated and read in English. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception. I've officially decided gold is my new favorite wedding color. White and gold were the colors used for the ceremony and reception as well as the cake and it was so elegant.

The most challenging thing outside of the language barrier was doing formal photos at a heavily populated park at 2pm when the sun was just harsh and blinding. This was the first time I really got nervous and anxious about creating beautiful images. Freestone park in itself is quite pretty, but on the weeknds is a hotspot for feeding the ducks, bbq's and birthday parties. And while most people are cool and stay out of the photos-some just didn't get the hint (bride in weddings dress, limo, bridal party, etc). Regardless, I walked away feeling really good about what we were able to accomplish.

All of us here with them both the very best!

Welcome to the world Sean

An enormous congratulations are in order for Rob and Carrie on the birth of their little boy Sean Jeffrey.

Rob and Carries forthe longest time had affectionnately named their baby "Chewbacca" hiding his name- even from me until his birth- must say I was happy to learn that "Chewy" was not a sticking name, but now just a fun nickname that gets tossed around during mommy brain lapses and fatigue :)

Sean decided being a supermodel was hard work and after a snack break proceeded to sleep thru the remainder of his session. He's a darling little addition and is well loved by his parents and pets alike.

We look forward to many more session over the coming year and watching his development and growth.
